Asher Segun-Olasanmi

About Asher

Asher is a learner at heart and founder by nature. She enjoys learning about how things work and amassing experience in various sectors of life. Currently studying Civil Engineering, Asher’s dream is to put her knowledge to use by working to provide basic infrastructure for the homeless and underprivileged.

Her latest project is called the Light Week Challenge (LWC), which she singlehandedly sought support for to bring her idea to life. The LWC is now in circulation and helps students look beyond themselves to better understand life and their environment.

Tomi is a Public Relations and Advertising major who cares deeply about people, African development and improving standards of living on the continent through purpose driven entrepreneurship. She hopes to leverage the media, culture and public speaking platforms to create positive social change. During her free time, she enjoys watching YouTube videos, strolling, brainstorming an idea or having conversations with people.

Uchechukwu David Mokwe, originally from Nigeria, is a passionate and dedicated learner currently entering his second year at the University of Chicago. He is driven by a deep love for knowledge and personal growth, with a particular interest in chemistry and its applications.

Uchechukwu's determination and resourcefulness have enabled him to overcome challenges and contribute positively to his community and peers. His commitment to learning and growth is evident in his academic pursuits and active participation in various extracurricular activities and initiatives, which have further honed his leadership and teamwork skills.

A Rise Global Winner and IB diploma student, Henrietta's leadership in recycling initiatives and her commitment to sustainability and child welfare inspire positive change in her community and beyond.

Faithful is a dedicated web developer and Computer Science student at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri. His commitment to harnessing technology for societal advancement is complemented by his proactive role in student advocacy and community service.

In 2022, Faithful was recognized as an Official Galactic Problem Solver by NASA International Space Apps Challenge, highlighting his innovative problem-solving skills. His further accolade as a NASA DART Planetary Defender underscores his dedication to emerging technologies and space exploration.

In addition to his technical achievements, Faithful serves as a Campus Barrister, advocating for student rights and addressing legal matters within the university community. This role aligns with his passion for justice and adds a crucial dimension to his academic and professional endeavors.

Faithful is also an enthusiastic LWC Ambassador at FUTO, firmly believing in the vision of LWC to shape and prepare undergraduates for the real world. As an ambassador, he promotes the program's mission to equip students with practical skills and knowledge essential for future success.
